Innovative planning and resource optimization: These topics were at the center of a discussion session at the conference with the title „Sustainable architecture in climate change“ on July 12th. Wolfgang Zimmer participated in the event as part of the Green Capital of Europe – Essen 2017.

The two-day conference in the ThyssenKrupp Quarter should bring together actors from business, politics and administration, thus enriching the debate about sustainable and climate-friendly buildings, the organizers said. Four overarching questions were deepened with the help of impulse lectures and discussion rounds.

Cycle management and surface optimization

In his contribution, Wolfgang Zimmer highlighted the importance of environmental management as well as the optimization of land and resources. As a method for sustainable overcompression, he also presented a modular concept developed by Koschany + Zimmer Architekten KZA for Vonovia. It has been implemented for the first time in Bochum-Hofstede.
