Excellent discussions and great interest in the lectures on serial-modular construction: The team of the KZA office looks back on successful days at the Expo Real fair in Munich. For three days, the Essen-based company presented itself as a co-exhibitor at the booth of the Ruhr Metropolis.
The KZA team used the opportunity to deepen existing contacts and make new ones. In addition, Axel Koschany participated actively in the trade fair program: In four lectures he introduced the modular concept developed by KZA and ALHO. It is one of the winning designs in the Europe-wide competition for serial and modular construction.
Together with Michael Lauer (ALHO) Axel Koschany refuted some common prejudices. Because in the public discussion, modular building was recently linked with terms such as „Tristesse in series“ and „Prefabricated building 2.0“.
Diversity instead of „Tristesse in series“
„The scalable, serial element holds a tremendous variety: Our matrix can create intelligent, well-organized floor plans, with a large variance in the residential mix and in the facades“, emphasized the managing partner of the KZA office.
The principle is the same as with „haute couture off the peg“. „In the end, it’s all about a construction method that can be used to make beautiful and sophisticated architecture.“
